  • Upgrade of the ICP-OES machine for mineral analysis to include an autosampler which enables high throughput analyses
  • Capacity development: Research Associate Mr. Derick Malavi received training on operating the ICP-OES and X-Ray Fluorescence at the Maize Quality Laboratory, CIMMYT in Mexico from the 1st to the 18th of February 2019
  • New Staff Recruitments: Mrs.Lucy Mwaura, a Senior Research Associate (from the 1st March 2019)and Dr Mukani Moyo, a Post-doctoral Fellow in Food Chemistry (from the 1st of May 2019), Ms Mariam Nakitto (FANEL-Uganda), Keziah Githae (Program analyst).
  • Food Safety and Quality Management support to Burton& Bamber Ltd by Lucy Mwaura who is a Food Safety and Quality Specialist. The B & B Ltd will be processing puree to cater for the Eastern and Central Kenya supply of puree for production of OFSP products.
